Enoch Morrison, Winger of King Faisal has made it clear players are in betting because of meagre salaries in the local League.
According to him, most players in the local scene are finding it complicated because of poor salaries at the end of the month.
Speaking to Kumasi-based Akoma Fm, he shared that no player will involve in betting if payment are encouraging.
“Poor player salaries forces footballers to engage in betting. Many players have little or no support from anywhere. Poor living conditions and low salaries makes things difficult for us. Sometimes transportation money to leave the stadium for our homes after league matches is even a problem,” Enoch Morrison said while asking, “what do you expect the player to do?”
Enoch Morrison added, “Though this is not a justification for players to bet, but these are the underlying factors why players engage in betting. The FA must take a serious look at player salaries to check betting.”
The talented attacker made such comment after Ashgold and Inter Allies was fined with their guiltiness and demoted into Division two league coming next season.
