Joseph Albert Quarm born May 7 1975 is a Ghanaian politician and member of the Seventh Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana representing the Manso-Nkwanta Constituency in the Ashanti Region on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party.

Joseph Albert Quarm worked as a tutor at Vicande School from 1996 to 1998 part-time environmental officer at Central Gold African Ghana Limited between 2007 to 2007. He was also the C.E.O of Prof Quarm Publications from 1995 to 2016 and the C.E.O of Prof Quarm Hospital from 2012 to 2016.
PROFILE OF HON. JOSEPH ALBERT QUARM
Hon. Joseph Albert Quarm is an astute writer of science text books for over 25 years (Prof Quarm Science Text Books for Primary and Senior High Schools). He is also a mining and land Reclamation Consultant and a Philanthropist. With his rich knowledge in mining and the desire to help reform the mining industry, he contributed significantly in drafting policies such as the Community Mining Concept where legal small scale mining concessions are processed by law to prospective miners within the mining communities to enable mining to become more sustainable and environmentally friendly to create jobs in the mining communities.
As a Mining Consultant he had a lead role in coming into force the local content policy in the mining industry where Ghanaians who have interest in mining and mining support services can also have opportunities in the industry, he is a strong advocate for Ghanaians taking up take greater interest in mining and its related services.
Hon. Quarm has continuously championed for an effective way of enhancing environmental impact assessment in the mining industry. He has also done extensive research and made valid proposals to the government of Ghana in reclaiming degraded mine sites and is keen on partnering with international development stakeholders for sustainable development initiatives in Ghana and beyond. He has attended many conferences in the area of mining and the environment, some of the conferences attended are; Mining Indaba; Investing in African Mining at Cape town, Jewellex Conference at Johannesburg, Atomexpo XI Conference held at Russia, UN conference on Sustainable Environment held at Austria, Mining Indaba; Value Chain in the Mining Sector Conference held at Cape town, Value Chain and Sustainable Mining Practices Conference held at Toronto, Canada, Responsible Jewelry Conference held at Chicago, U.S.A, among others.
Hon. Quarm has founded and chaired many businesses in Ghana with the passion of developing young potentials and giving back to the community. Some of his Businesses are; Prof-QuarmPublications Limited, being the hub of best-selling Science textbooks in Ghana and West Africa, Prof- Quarm Construction Company Limited, Prof- Quarm Hospital (100 bed capacity) and Prof- Quarm football Club, amongst others. As an astute teacher and writer, Hon. Quarm taught GCSE A’ level Biology and GCSE O’ level Science at Nothycote College in Bushbury, Wolverhamptom, UK through teacher training agency as well as Integrated Science at Prempeh College in Ghana.
Hon. Quarm is a Former Member of Parliament for MansoNkwanta Constituency and Board Member of the Minerals Commission and He has served on several Boards and Committees of which some are; Member of the Parliamentary Select committee on Environment, Science and Technology, Member of the Privileges Committee of Parliament, Management Member of the Otumfour Education Teachers Award and a Member of the Planning Committee for OtumfourTeachers Award. He is currently the Board Chairman for KNUST Foundation, also a Board Member of Afia KobiAmpem Girls Senior High School and the Chairman of the Human Resource Committee, Triumphant Baptist Church, Kumasi, Ghana.
He has received several awards and recognitions including, Recognition of the outstanding work for Ghana against illegal mining by Amanfoo UK, Prempeh College, Integrity Icon Recognition in Leadership by Integrity Advocacy Network, Young Entrepreneur for Education in Ghana by Lifetime Achievement Award and Publishing Excellence Award by the Department of Publishing Studies, KNUST – Ghana.
Hon. Joseph Albert Quarm was born on 7th May, 1975 and hails from Nsiana, a predominately mining community in the Amansie West District, Ashanti Region.
He holds a Master of Philosophy Degree in Biological Sciences (Environmental Mining and Land Reclamation) from KNUST, Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological Science also from KNUST, he attained his GCE A’ Level in Physics, Chemistry and Biology from Prempeh College and his GCE O’ Level in General Science from Atwimaman Secondary School, Trabuom.He is currently pursuing his PhD in Environmental Science at KNUST and will be graduating this year.
He is happily married with 5 children.
