Former midfied enforcer of Asante Kotoko, Michael Akuffo has expressed his excitement on Ghanaian duo, Sulley Muntari and Samuel Inkoom on their return into Ghana Premier League.
Muntari and Inkoom have been a instrumental figure of Samuel Boadu’s side this season despite joining the club half way through the campaign. The left-footed midfieder has scored one goal and provided two assist in his league games whiles the right-back has scored one which was a spectacular free-kick in three games for Hearts of Oak so far this season.
Former Black Stars materials joined the Phobains after ended their long-term playing days at European soils. Inkoom becomes the second veteran player to be signed by Champions of the Ghana Premier League Accra Hearts of Oak and follows in the likes of Asamoah Gyan and Sulley Muntari all to return to the league.
“I am not surprised but I am happy for them because they’ve brought some joy into the league, especially Sulley Muntari and Inkoom. They’ve done so much. It motivates the boys they train with – He told Ghanasportspage.com
“They believe that they can also be like them. Most Ghanaians don’t appreciate what these guys have brought into our league. All that they will talk about is the negative aspect of them that they are old. Those are the things that discourage some players, especially the experienced ones who are willing to play in our league because they won’t come for the young ones to discourage them.
” For Sulley and Inkoom they’ve brought so much into the league because some people will go and watch Hearts of Oak because of Sulley Muntari and Inkoom. Is a big thing am very happy for – He concluded.
