The witty wonderkid, Fatawu Abdul Isahaku ensured Ghanaians to expect the best from them in this Afcon.

The 33rd edition of the Africa Cup of Nations will run from January 9 to February 6. The tournament was originally scheduled to be played in 2021 but was postponed twice due to the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Black Stars of Ghana suffered a humiliating friendly defeat to Algeria in a pre-AFCON test game at the Education City Stadium in Qatar on Wednesday.

A first half striker from Adam Ounas, an own goal from Jonathan Mensah and Islam Sliman’s fine finish ensured the African champions trounced Ghana 3-0.

In an interview with the Ghana Football Association’s media, the 17-year-old said the target is to win the ultimate.

Despite the humiliation, the future star still believe that: “What Ghanaians should expect from me is just the cup… because every player if you are going for a tournament, your main target is the trophy,” the exciting youngster said.

“So I think, that’s what I have for Ghanaians, they should expect the come from us,” he added.

The U20 star was the best player at recent U20 Afcon tournament. He earned his call up to the Senior National Team in the Afcon qualifers against South Africa and Sao Tome.
